The essays collected in this volume deal with a central theme of the Jewish tradition: the dream, and secondly the surreal. As for the study of texts, the contributions range over a very long time span, from the Bible to modern poetry, examining a wide range of topics; in the field of visual arts, through different eras and media, we move from the frescoes in the Dura Europos synagogue to the painting of the twentieth century, without forgetting the cinema.
