- "'אל האדמה' הוא קובץ של עשרים ואחד פרקים אשר נכתבו בידי המחבר במהלך כמה עשורים ... ולקראת פרסומם בספר זה עברו עדכון ועריכה. הכמיהה היהודית לשוב אל אדמת ארץ ישראל היא שמאחדת את פרקי הספר. שלושה חלקים לחיבור: הראשון מוקדש לשורה של נושאים בהתיישבות הכללית, השני עוסק בהתיישבות הדתית, והשלישי עניינו קרן קיימת לישראל (קק"ל). תקופת הזנו שבה עוסק הספר ראשיתה בתחילת המאה העשרים וסופה בשנות השבעים של מאה זו, אם כי לפרקים מסוימים השלכות הנוגעות לימינו אנו. לעומת שני חלקיו הראשונים של הספר, שעוסקים בתהליכי התיישבות, החלק השלישי עוסק בארגון - קק"ל. דומה כי למרות המחקר הענף בנושא קק"ל בעשורים האחרונים, מבחינה היסטורית עדיין היא נתפסת כגואלת הקרקעות ומייערת ארץ ישראל. הספר מראה עד כמה רבים היו תפקידיה של קק"ל וחלקה בבניין הארץ. יש בפרקים הללו כדי לרמוז על נושאי המשנה הרבים בתולדות הארגון שטרם זכו למחקר"--Back cover.
