- Summary:
- The second half of an unpublished work of ten treatises, comprising the sixth through tenth treatises, on fire and cold, air and sound, electricity, meteorology, and astronomy. Both the eighth treatise on electricity (f. 168r-184v) and the chapter on lightning in the ninth treatise (f. 197v-204r) rely on Giambatista Beccaria's Dell' elletricismo naturale ed artificiale (Torino : Nella Stampa di F.A. Campana, 1753) and his descriptions of Benjamin Franklin's experiments with electricity. The treatise on astronomy is the longest and addresses Copernican theory, planetary motion, the moon, and eclipses. A table of contents at the end (f. 266r-267v) lists the chapters through the ninth treatise. The gatherings are sewn together but the volume has no binding.
