Summary:
Notes and musical examples from an unidentified edition of the English version of J. B. Logier's music textbook, first published in 1827, written after that date, probably in England. The notes cover most of Logier's work, including five rules of harmonizing; sections on modulation, inverted basses, extended harmony and the minor scale; and part of his section on modulation in melodies by the introduction of accidentals, ending after false, suspended, and great cadences. The notes do not cover the final section of Logier's work, on composition. The notes are written in a commercially produced notebook for keeping accounts, with a leather spine and marbled paper covers, lined paper, and three columns at the right edge of each page. Musical examples, copied on heavier paper, are pasted onto the pages. Modern pagination in pencil, lower outer corners, 1-96.
