Text in Hebrew, with a portion in Yiddish (leaf 8 verso).
Notes:
There are two title pages, the first with the title "Seder sheḥiṭot u-vediḳot" and the second with the title "Seder bediḳot".
Titles within an architectural border. The printers device of Uri ben Aaron ha-Levi is on the verso of each title page (two fish, and a pitcher pouring water) and a final on the last page. Also found on the upper framing of the title pages.
Text of the halakhic code of R. Jacob Weill is in the upper center of each page in square print, with his commentary surrounding it in smaller print.
Signatures: [1]-[6]⁴.
Title indicates that the editors of the volume were descendants (or relatives) of the printer, Shelomoh b. Mosheh Ṿelḥ (ועלח, or Wolch) and Aharon b. Daṿid ha-Levi.
Illustrations on f. 5 verso are of slaughter knife blades, showing a kosher knife and three types of imperfections on knives. Also shown on f. 16 recto are openings of the Bronchial Tree, using a bold square samekh (ס) turned sidewards.
Local Notes:
CJS copy formerly owned by shoḥṭim (ritual slaughterers) for the Shearith Israel Congregation in New York during the 18th century, and most of the inscriptions date from the 1720s.
CJS copy formerly owned by Jacob Hart (multiple inscriptions in Hebrew and English); inscriptions dated 1719, 1721, 1724, and 1726. Full inscription on front endpaper: "Jacob Hart, his book, anno 1721, of Scheta Badeco, Rabbi Benjamin Elias of the city of New York יעקב הארט".
