First ever exhibition of conceptual artist Ai Weiwei (China 1957) in Sao Paulo and his largest ever staged (covering a total area of 8,000 square meters) presenting a large part of his most iconic works, along with the new works inspired Brazilian rich biodiversity, human landscape, and creativity. The retrospective included ceramics, art objects, sculptures, art installations, and his 2016 subversive and renowned worldwide photographic triptych Dropping a Han Dynasty Urn,œ a recreation using Lego pieces of his 1995 work that portrays the artist intentionally dropping an urn which dated back to the 2,000-year-old Han dynasty. Ai Weiwei left China in 2015 and since has become a strong advocate in social and humanitarian issues, including the world immigration crisis. Widely illustrated, this catalogue features the artist's major works and a documented chronicle of his creations in Brazil, along with northeastern artisans.
