Summary:
A feature on the Joint Session of the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party, the Supreme Soviets of the USSR and the RSFSR, held on the 60th anniversary of the formation of the USSR. The film begins with footage highlighting the USSR's 60th anniversary celebrations. It then shows international delegates meeting at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, and of Chernenko and Andropov delivering speeches which address disarmament and international peace between nations. Also features archive footage briefly highlighting the Russian Revolution, and showing how living and working conditions improved following the formation of the USSR.
