Summary:
A feature-length film showing highlights from a three week tour of India taken by Nikolai Bulganin and Nikita Khrushchev. Footage from Bulganin's and Khrushchev's extensive tour of India, visiting Delhi, Agra, the Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bombay, Pune, Bangalore, Madras, Calcutta, the Damodar Valley, Jaipur and Kashmir. On their arrival at Palam Airport in Delhi on 18th November they are greeted by Prime Minister Nehru and Vice-President Radhakrishnan, as well as huge crowds. The film follows them as they attend traditional welcoming ceremonies and receptions with local officials, visit historical sites, and industrial and agricultural enterprises, and view cultural performances throughout India. This includes a visit to the Taj Mahal, to the memorial for Mahatma Gandhi, a variety of performances of traditional Indian dances, a children's festival, and inspections of livestock, agricultural machinery and factories.
