- Summary:
- A short documentary film introducing Soviet Kirghizia (Kyrgyzstan) and its people, history and the workings of rural life. The film includes a visit to Ala-Too Square in the capital city of Bishkek, where the monument to Nikolay Mikhaylovich Przhevalsky (1839-1888) is captured. The significance of the figure of Manas to the Kyrgyz people, and the epic poem regarding him, is also touched upon. Towards the end, the documentary visits a film set where the actors are wearing traditional dress and riding horses.
