- Summary:
- A silent film documenting the opening of Tower House, Lewisham, the great department store of the Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society. Filmed on 7th November 1933, the store was opened by its General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. William B. Neville. It was a landmark in the history of the Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society and was the last in a series of emporia added to the network of R.A.C.S. branches in south London. Representatives from different societies attended the opening and there was a crowd of co-operators outside during the ceremony as the flag of international co-operation was unfurled.
