- Summary:
- A documentary on the career of Marshal Georgi Zhukov, a significant Soviet military figure of the Second World War. Zhukov was Chief of Soviet General Staff in 1941, Commander of the troops of the Reserve, Leningrad and Western Army fronts. The film is a collection of archive footage of battle scenes between the Soviet and German Army, interviews with Zhukov and footage and stills of Zhukov discussing battle strategies. The film highlights Zhukov's important involvement in the Second World War, with footage of the Japanese invasion of Mongolia in 1939, Leningrad in October 1941, Moscow during November to July 1942, the Battle of Stalingrad, and finally the Berlin operation in 1945. Includes details of battle strategies and Zhukov's discussions with Stalin, as well as footage of Stalin at various stages of the war. Also features previously unpublished stills of Zhukov during the war.
