Summary:
A film about the history of the relationship between the USSR and China made to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Soviet-Chinese Friendship Treaty. Features charting the "Great Leap Forward". In light of China's termination of the Friendship Treaty with the USSR in April 1979, this film critiques the anti-communist and anti-Soviet behaviour of China whilst highlighting the USSR's friendly efforts to help China since the early twentieth century. Includes footage of Sun Yat Sen's speech on Lenin's death, Soviet aid during the Manchurian wars in 1937 and 1945, Vasily Blyukher in China, Mei Lan Fang and Galina Ulanova, and the conference during which China terminates the Friendship Treaty in April 1979. Also features footage showing how Soviet people visited China to help improve its industry and economy, and of Chinese students in Russia being given vocational training.
