Summary:

Short documentary film capturing the Soviet reaction to Yuri Gagarin's return to Moscow after successfully completing the world's first manned space flight. Scenes of daily life in Moscow, followed by factory workers listening to a radio announcement about the orbit of the Vostok. As the narrator discusses the flight, images of cheering crowds holding signs and images of Yuri Gagarin roll. In a factory, the newspaper Pravda is printed with Gagarin on the front page. Footage of a plane landing and Gagarin appearing to address Nikita Khrushchev and other dignitaries. Later, a car parades through the streets to a large rally where Gagarin addresses a crowd. Finally, scenes from a gala reception held at the Kremlin and an outdoor celebration.
