- Summary:
- Feature about the city of Leningrad in celebration of its 250th anniversary. Covers Leningrad's history from the Russian Revolution and the Second World War, through to its contemporary status in the 1950s. The film focuses on presenting the industrial, technological and cultural developments that have taken place in Leningrad since the Russian Revolution, with footage of Khrushchev and Voroshilov visiting hydroelectric plants and awarding workers with the Order of Lenin. Footage also presents the city's shipbuilding and metallurgical industries, museums and cultural pursuits, developments in transport and housing, as well as creation of gardens and leisure spaces around the city. Examples from the everyday lives of the city's people are also included.
