Summary:

Documentary discussing Reagan's proposed 'Strategic Defence Initiative' (SDI). It includes interviews with Russian, American and English scientists, authors and politicians and has footage of Reagan, Thatcher and Gorbachev. It also makes extensive use of animation to show how the proposed system would work. Many people doubted the ability of any shield to defend a whole country and questioned the cost of the program. The film concludes that the construction of space shields would de-stabilise international relations.
