Summary:
Documentary built around the life and policies of Lenin. The ideas Lenin put forward whilst Soviet leader are followed up in order to see how the modern situation in the Soviet Union reflects, and can be traced back to, those ideas. This helps the film to hold Lenin up as a great intellect who paved the way for the future of human success. There is archive footage of the 1917 revolutions, the anarchist uprising, and Lenin's funeral and lying in state, as well as more modern film of workers, industry and the Vietnam War. There is particularly good footage of Russian peasants being allowed into the old palaces of the Tsar.
