- Summary:
- Documentary examining the Soviet Union's need to defend itself against the threat of nuclear war from the West as a result of the West's perception of Communism as a threat. [WARNING: contains distressing scenes of dead bodies.]. Examines NATO's nuclear defence plans against the Soviet Union and other states of the Warsaw Pact, with a focus on the arms race between the USSR and the USA. The film suggests that in light of the threat from the US, the Soviet Union is having to spend money on its military defence when it could be spending money on housing, industry and peace for its people. Highlights the number of atrocities in which America has played a part, such as the bombing of Dresden, Hiroshima, and Vietnam.
