Summary:
The second section of a two-part film to promote the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Interviews with several high-ranking military personnel from various countries discussing the establishment of NATO and its nuclear strategy, the US military presence in Europe, and the nuclear arms race between the United States and the Soviet Union. "In conjunction with 'Generals for Peace and Disarmament' London". Several high ranking military personnel from Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, the Netherlands, the Federal Republic of Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom are interviewed in Vienna. Each of the generals discusses their reasons for opposing the deployment of Pershing and Cruise missiles in Europe, and how they have dealt with personal attacks from colleagues and the press because of their support for nuclear disarmament. They also discuss their own experiences of witnessing nuclear tests.
