Summary:
Restored version of a 1938 comedy drama that tells the story of the Russian Revolution through the eyes of an ignorant peasant. After initial scenes set in the trenches of First World War, the hero finds himself caught up in events that bring him into contact with revolutionaries and anti-Bolshevik elites, before eventually taking part in a decisive battle of the Civil War. Scenes featuring Mikheil Gelovani as Joseph Stalin were removed from this edit.
