The story of the People's Liberation Army victory over Chiang Kai-Shek in China. Mainly re-enactment with some archive footage. Scenes of Chinese Communist Party leaders at a rally celebrating the birth of the People's Republic of China in 1949. Military hardware captured from Chiang Kai-shek and troops marching and celebrating. Talk of China's great natural resources and scenes of the Great Wall of China and the oppression of the people under the previous Chinese regimes. Shows images of European embassies. Suggests the nationalists were no resistance to the Japanese in Manchuria and the Communists were the true resisters. Re-enacted footage of communist partisans in action against the Japanese. Discusses Soviet action against the Japanese and the ensuing civil war with the Kuomintang. Discusses land reform and retribution against landowners.
