"The bifolium ['C4'.chi1] is attached to the stub of the original C4. It would seem that this leaf contained the end of sermon I on its recto (p. 23) and the beginning of sermon II on its verso (p. 24). When it was realized that the divisional title for sermon II had been omitted, a bifolium was printed and inserted ...Thereafter, each sermon is headed with a divisional title-page and blank, and the numbering is consecutive."--Monkman.
