Summary:
Artist and educator Patricia Belli (Managua, 1964) is considered one of the precursors of contemporary art in Nicaragua. The monographic book that accompanies her most recent retrospective is also the most extensive and ambitious historical review of her work to this date. The anthology includes 4 essays, an interview, and the literary work of the artist, as well as 200 color reproductions of the more than 40 sculptures, drawings, paintings, videos and installations produced in the last three decades. To revisit the various aspects of her work is to enter into dialogue with an enigmatic and defiant language that has explored the memory of matter to translate to, both intimate and social concerns.
