Summary:

This is a collection of fragments from Torah scrolls and mezuzot which likely spans the European, Sefardic, and Jerusalemite scribal customs and rites. The first two items are fragments from Torah scrolls intentionally cut out due to misspelled words (pesulim) and they are cut in a straight line around the column, likely by a razor blade. Both were ruled to be written in 42 lines; the first has 42 lines of text while the second stops mid-word on the 40th line. The script is a Polish-Lithuanian safrut, with wide tagin on the letters; many of the tagin are not completed. The third item is a fine example of earlier Sefardic-influenced safrut, likely 17th-century, with thin tagin; the column of 42 lines is 27 centimeters tall. The third item has irregular tears in the margins with little loss of text. Items 4-6 are mezuzot; the first mezuzah appears to be in a Jerusalemite (Yerushalmi) hand, written in one column of 22 lines (140x125 mm); the shin-dalet-yud written on the verso is erased. Items 5 and 6 are Polish or Lithuanian, with item 6 more likely being Polish based on the heavier script of the shin-dalet-yud.
