Layout: Chiefly written in 20 lines in four columns, some lines at angles.
Script: Written in nastaʻlīq in black ink; pointed.
Decoration: Full, dual-page illuminated title pages in blue and gold with red, green, yellow; a central star motif set into a square with a rectangle above and below, all spaces filled with patterns and flowers and vines; titles of works are in gold in the rectangles and star, somewhat smudged (f. 1v-2r). Full, dual-page illustration with illuminated frame showing a hunt scene (f. 2v-3r). Second set of full, dual-page illuminated opening pages chiefly in blue and gold with polychrome flower and vine decoration; a central blue medallion set with white text with two blue pendants on the vertical axis (f. 3v-4r). Second full, dual-page illustrated scene with illuminated margins showing a feast (f. 370v-371r). Headpieces before each new work, each one is unique within the manuscript; the page-opening has gold, foliate marginal fill; text on cloudbands, blue intercolumnar fill with small gold flowers (f. 4v-5r, 35r-35v, 118r-118v, 182v-183r, 238r-238v, 326v-327r). Each page is border-ruled in brown, green, orange, gold, red and blue with intercolumnal fill in two styles, either blue with gold flowers ruled in red (center column) or gold with black flowers ruled in green (side columns); text division markers are in white ink on a gold field decorated with small, polychrome flowers and ruled in red and blue with white dots. When the text is written at angles, corners are filled in three ways: gold with polychrome flowers, blue with gold flowers, or pink with blue flowers. Colophons are surrounded by gold foliate marginal fill. 27 full-page illustrations (f. 16v, 28r, 49r, 64v, 81r, 96v, 126v, 140r, 147r, 150v, 154r, 158v, 164v, 169v, 192v, 240v, 256v, 270r, 284r, 303r).

Origin: Five of the six sections are dated individually: section 1 completed the last day of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 990 (f. 34v); section 2 completed in the middle of Muḥarram 991 (f. 117v); section 3 completed on 10 Ṣafar 991 (f. 182v); sections 5 and 6 completed in the middle of Jumādá al-Ākhirah 992 in Shīrāz by Qāsim Kātib (f. 326r, 370r).
