The issues of the Quarterly journal which are part of the Quarterly register and journal have both the volume and issue number under the caption. The "regular" issues of the Quarterly journal have only the issue number.

The first six nos. of the Quarterly journal of the American Education Society, issued July 1827-Oct. 1829, are considered by the Society to be v. 1, no. 1-6 of the American quarterly register. The journal was also issued as a separate title July 1827-Oct. 1829. From Jan. 1829-May 1843 the Society issued the journal and the register separately, all publications having the same numbering. Cf. NUC.
