- Summary:
- "Curatorship is a critical tool for thinking about the present, which is embodied in the curator, a central figure in the contemporary art world. But this figure was not present forever. "Models and curatorial practices in the 90s. The art scene in Buenos Aires" accounts for the decade in which the rise of the curator is seen as part of a broader process of restructuring the art system, and in which the passage of an amateur stage became a professional one. For this, she focuses on the artistic-intellectual itinerary of Jorge Gumier Maier and Marcelo Pacheco -two figures of great symbolic weight for the scene of the time- in order to define a universe of actions linked to the exhibition as an object of study for the history of art."--Verso Cover.
