En la significativa escena de autofagia en la que Martí devora su propia lengua al morir en Dos Ríos ?momento de extremo repliegue de la discursividad nacional? Armand halla la incisión brutal que pudiera igualar su experiencia, traumática a veces, con el idioma. Sarduy, por su parte, cuestiona lúdicamente la ?summa? de nuestra cultura en la parodia de los momentos en que nuestra realidad estuvo peor sostenida por una estructura ideológica sentimental y endeble.
