First edition of volumes 5 and 6. See Monkman.
The first edition of "Tristram Shandy" was issued in nine volumes from 1760 to 1767. The first eight volumes were published in pairs, and the ninth by itself. Vols. 1-4 were published by R. and J. Dodsley. Some individual volumes (or pairs of volumes) were also issued in editions other than first during the same time period.
Signatures: v. 5: [A]⁴ B-K⁸ L⁴ (leaves A1 and L4 blanks) ; v. 6: [A]² B-K⁸ L⁶.
