"Due to ongoing interest in quality of nutrition, health and improved civic life, urban food production continues to increase inside cities worldwide. Nonetheless, finding available fertile land, assembling favorable conditions and competent project stewards remain challenging in light of competing land-use interests and divergent stakeholder intentions. Food Urbanism introduces typologies, tools, evaluation methods and strategies, and illustrates practical applications urban agriculture methods. Thanks to the planned insertion of food production entities into the urban realm, thoughtful projects can augment urban quality, Food Urbanism is a versatile and insightful tool deployed during the preliminary, schematic and development phases of landscape design, urban planning, and public participation.
