Summary:
The German job market in the 1980s was far from inclusive for visually impaired adults. The case charts the success of Andreas Heinecke's non-profit organisation Dialogue in the Dark, which aimed to provide greater job opportunities for visually impaired and blind individuals. Dialogue in the Dark creates exhibits and dining experiences in total darkness with blind or visually impaired workers acting as guides or waiters. The reader is invited to consider the strategy and the hierarchy of Dialogue in the Dark and how this contributed to its success and growth.
