Summary:
It was the early part of September 2012. Viren Rasquinha, the CEO of Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) had just arrived at his office in Mumbai. From the window of his office he could see Churchgate Station; pouring out was an endless stream of people on to Mumbai's streets. This daily sight always left him with mixed feelings. It was a constant reminder of India being one of the largest in terms of population but a perennial underachiever, a laggard at the greatest celebration of human endeavour, the Olympics. At the same time, the multitude was also an indicator of the hope and potential of India. Viren felt that given the right resources and training, there was no reason why India could not move to the forefront of nations in the medal's tally at Olympics.
