- Summary:
- Four closely related and complex issues are relevant for every organization, whether it is business for profit, nonprofit nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), or public institutions: vision/mission, strategy, structure, and culture. Regardless of the direction of your organization, a manager needs to master these issues. One mistake in any of these areas can cost you and your organization time and can mean spending significantly more effort in moving toward success. This case study focuses on the description of the development and structural transformation of the Wiosna Associationone of the three biggest and most well-known NGOs in Poland. Wiosnas potential was enormous. There was a strong will to create value for society and a team with an enormous determination to succeed, coupled with a set of challenges (e.g., financial or structural problems) that NGOs typically face.
