- Summary:
- Christoph Faulhaber's (*1972, Osnabrück) public art actions and other works are distinguished by a mixture of clever chutzpah and charming obtrusiveness; they are funny, intelligent, and have brass. In his work he tests the boundaries between private and public space, explores questionable fields of action, and establishes the function of pictures in new contexts. This monograph is the first to offer comprehensive insight into the artist's oeuvre. Early works, such as the Land Art performance Schwarzspecht (1995), are being published for the first time, and there is material pertaining to his performances Burberry-Weltweite Musterung (2001) and Mister Security (2005-2007), as well as to the media and film works Jedes Bild ist ein leeres Bild (2014) and Phantom of Punk (2016). In addition, the book contains texts and pictures of his solo show at the Kunsthalle Osnabrück.
