Summary:

Second volume of a projected series of books that study the diverse ways of visualizing the religious and social phenomena, facts and people, in particular during the period of the Spanish administration of the territory of the State of Michoacan. In the present volume some names of local painters whose works are conserved in different enclosures are rescued, as well as anonymous pieces and others signed by recognized teachers of the city of Mexico, that filled the religious and civil spaces of the region. Sacred images, portraits, allegories and paintings of souls form a corpus of unpublished works, reunited with a double purpose: to study the values ??of pictorial production from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries in Michoacán and to contribute to its conservation.
