Summary:
Rosa Silbermann was sent back to Germany in 1952 with a secret order. The Jewish woman, who had emigrated to Palestine in the 1930s from Cologne, works for the Israeli secret service. Her opponent is the distrustful house lady Sophie Reisacher who had to leave Alsace in 1945. Both women have experienced what it means when a whole country wants to start anew. Both of them know of a planned assassination attempt against Chancellor Adenauer, and each are pursuing their own plans.
