Summary:
Alors qu'il compte parmi les chefs-d'oeuvre incontestés de l'art roman, le Jugement dernier de la cathédrale d'Autun est longtemps resté méconnu en regard de ses contemporains de Vézelay et de Conques. Sculpté au portail nord de l'édifice (XIIe siècle) pour abriter les reliques de Saint-Lazare et accueillir de nombreux pèlerins, il atteste de l'existence d'un foyer artistique exceptionnel. Sa complète restauration a été l'occasion de nombreuses découvertes. Ce sont ces découvertes que le présent ouvrage relate grâce au regard croisé de spécialistes, invitant à une compréhension intime du grand portail d'Autun.
