- Summary:
- Tissue cultivation is a methodological discipline of growing interest in biomedical research. In addition to its essential contributions to contemporary concepts of cell biology, tumour pathology and other fields, it yields model systems for biological and pharmocological research and is a frequent tool used in biotechnology. One of the fields in which cell culture is broadly applied is in research on the reticuloendothelial system (RES). This close link between cell culture and RES prompted the European Tissue Culture Society and the European Reticuloendothelial Society to organize a joint congress. Tissue Culture and Reticuloendothelial system, as the proceedings of this joint congress, contains results and data on the latest advances presented. This book will be of great interest to researchers in the fields of cell culture, RES, immunology, cancer research, endocrinology and biochemistry.
