Examines the Fair Housing Act (FHA), which prohibits housing discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin; and explains impact of 2015 Supreme Court ruling in Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs volumes Inclusive Communities Project , which extends prohibitions to certain housing-related decisions that have a discriminatory effect on a protected class, known as disparate impact. Provides overview of how lower courts and HUD evaluated allegations of discriminatory effects prior to and following the Inclusive Communities decision.
