- Summary:
- Provides side-by-side comparison of certain provisions of P.L. 107-171, the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002. Compares current and former law, including the Federal Agricultural Improvement and Reform Act of 1996. Covers numerous policy adjustments for existing programs, and reviews new programs which provide additional conservation assistance for previously neglected purposes and locations, including the conservation security program. Reviews increased conservation budget authority and funding of the conservation effort by mandatory spending through the Commodity Credit Corporation.
