Provides overview of the Fair Housing Act, which prohibits housing discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. Identifies housing practices in which discrimination is prohibited; describes the enforcement activities of the HUD Secretary, Attorney General, and private persons; and summarizes provisions of the Act pertaining to housing insurance, familial discrimination and housing for older persons, and discrimination based on handicap.
