- 本书分为四个部分. 前言概述了石窟造像的研究现状, 利用前人的部分调研成果对四川地区宋代石窟菩萨造像进行梳理, 总结其发展变化的脉络, 并对阶段性,区域性特征进行整体研究和全面诠释; 第一部分历史篇从菩萨造像的缘起开始, 论述石刻的艺术美. 表现在造型,色彩,线条,雕刻技法等方面, 界定了石刻菩萨造像的美术构成要素. 第二部分文化篇, 涉及佛造像的类别,题材,菩萨典故与类型,位序等方面, 论述四川菩萨造像背后庞大支撑体系的艺术哲学和宗教文化传统; 第三部分表现篇, 研究其造型在美术学上的表现. 通过区域性的政治,经济,文化传播,交流状况梳理, 探讨菩萨造像的造型语言来源,生成及表现方式; 第四部分回响篇, 总结出以安岳为代表的两宋菩萨造像的艺术特点: 1,视角开放; 2,表达世俗; 3,理想化造型; 4,宋代的转化: 世俗题材和写实风格; 5,发展了中国雕塑艺术中线元素的作用.
