- Rebound volume comprised of culinary recipes by and unknown author from England written around 1851. Recipes include biscuits, cakes, creams, icings, jellies, marmalades, meat dishes, puddings, sauces, scones, and soups. Highlights include gravy soup, mock turtle soup, and soup a l'Italian; Albert, amber, Charlotte, fig, muffin, and soda puddings; bride or christening cake and gingerbread cake; grape and scotch marmalade; arrowroot blancmange; fritters; junket; horseradish sauce; Oxford pudding; and potato scones. Medicinal recipes for burns and cholera are in the volume. A few household recipes for cement, cleaning pastes, and clear soap are included. The recipes are written in two hands. A brief table of contents is on the first two pages of the volume. Label on inside back cover: The binding mimics the original ... rebound 1996.
