Singer-Mendenhall copy has early autograph ("Jacob Kepford[?]") on front pastedown; partially illegible ms. purchase inscription ("Commandr[?] Henry Bought in [...] 2.00") on front pastedown. "Jacob Kepford[?]" is possibly to be identified with Jacob Kepford (1819-1899), born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
Singer-Mendenhall copy has dated 19th-century autograph ("James Nesbit 1849") and undated autograph ("James Nesbit") on front pastedown; dated 19th-century autograph ("James Nesbit 1847") and pen tests on verso of title leaf; early partial autograph ("James Nesb[...]") on title leaf. "James Nesbit" is possibly to be identified with James Arthur Nesbit (1833-1903) of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and Marysville, Pennsylvania.
Singer-Mendenhall copy has early dated ms. ownership inscription ("Christian Coffman's Book. July 15th") and autograph ("Christian Coffman in Cumberland") on title leaf; early autographs ("C Coffman C Coffman") on verso of title leaf; autograph ("Christy Koffman") at head of p. 29; autograph ("Christy Coffman") and dated 19th-century ms. ownership inscription ("Christy Coffman his Book 1827") on p. 72. "Christian Coffman" is possibly to be identified with Christian Coffman (1804-1888) of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
Singer-Mendenhall copy has dated 19th-century autograph ("Elizabeth Coffman 1849") on verso of title leaf; autograph ("Elizabeth Coffman") on p. 72; autographs ("Elizabeth Kauffman" and "Elizabeth K" and "Kauffman") on back pastedown; ms. inscription ("Coffman") on back pastedown; ms. initials ("E * K") on left board; ms. inscriptions (repetition of "Elizabeth") on left board. "Elizabeth Coffman" is possibly to be identified with Elizabeth Coffman (née Kauffman; 1806-1892), wife of Christian Coffman.
