"Jacob Kepford[?]" is possibly to be identified with Jacob Kepford (1819-1899), born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Singer-Mendenhall copy has dated 19th-century autograph ("James Nesbit 1849") and undated autograph ("James Nesbit") on front pastedown; dated 19th-century autograph ("James Nesbit 1847") and pen tests on verso of title leaf; early partial autograph ("James Nesb[...]") on title leaf. "James Nesbit" is possibly to be identified with James Arthur Nesbit (1833-1903) of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and Marysville, Pennsylvania.
