- Trial to resolve the boundary dispute between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Article IX of the Articles of Confederation provided for the establishment of an impartial commission, selected by agreement between the contending states, to hear and determine the matters in dispute. Congress was to be the last resort on appeal.
