Hassan Moustapha Ali was the adopted name of black architecture student Tyrone S. Hoagland. Hassan was born Feb. 19, 1957 and died Mar. 8, 1988, shortly before these items were given to the Athenaeum. This data was provided by Hassan's brother, Najee T. Ali.
