This item appears to be a proposal drawing for the mint at a site on Chestnut St. in the block between Juniper and Broad Sts. City Hall and the Masonic Temple can be seen behind the proposed mint. The old Wanamaker's building is across Juniper, on Chestnut St. to the right. No information is known at this time on Freret, or if another architect led the design for this structure. According to Webster (1976), p. 301, the U.S. Mint was built on Spring Garden St. with James Knox Taylor as the lead architect, between 1898 and 1901.
