- Notes:
- According to Historic Philadelphia (1953), p.279, the Franklin Institute at 15 S. 7th St. was constructioned in 1825 according to plans by John Haviland. This building, currently the Atwater Kent Museum, was used by the Institute until 1933. Walter diary entries in Feb. 1841, state that he made a front elevation and two plans, and met with a committee at the Institute. Only the front elevation is included here, showing a two story building in the Greek Revival style. This was, perhaps, a suggested for an additional building, at another site, but appears never to have been built.
