- Notes:
- This unidentified elevation of an organ screen(?) has been identified in Laverty as belonging to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 4th below Spruce Sts., Philadelphia. Walter's diary entry of July 2, 1938 reads "St. Mary's Church, Fourth St., to design for organ screen with working drawings ..." Kurjack in Historic Philadelphia (1953), p.208 states "A new organ was acquired in 1839. The organ was built in New York and its front was designed by Thomas U. Walter, the architect. It cost in the neighborhood of $4,000." Walter did other organ constructions. Whether this image is for St. Mary's cannot be confirmed from the piece, without visual matching evidence.
- Webster (1976), p.27 has "St. Mary's (Roman Catholic) Church (also known as Old St. Mary's) at 244 S. Fourth St. The church was originally built in 1763, and has had several alterations.
