Notes:
Ballinger log book 1, p. 70, "Miscellaneous" projects, lists photo nos. 487, 490 & 492 for this building. Also on p. 71 of this log is photo no. 1908, "Wissahickon M.E. Parsonage." This photo appears to show a rear or side, but only partial view. The date of this later photo is attributed, based on the dates of other 19xx photos. Title data is taken from photo no. 492, which appears to be a photo of an architectural rendering, and also has bottom left "Hales & Ballinger, architects & engineers, 1290(?) Chestnut St., Phila., Pa." According to the Biographical dictionary of Philadelphia architects, p. 327, Edward M. Hales retired from Hales & Ballinger in 1901, which suggests the image in this photograph dates sometime before the actual photograph. 4xx series photos are dated in 1906-1907. Another photo for this building, no. 702, is absent from the logs, but listed in the scrapbook index.
Forms part of: Ballinger Company. Architectural photographs of the work of Ballinger & Perrot, and the successor Ballinger Company.
Local Notes:
Athenaeum copy: Gift of the Ballinger Co.,
