- Notes:
- This set includes various photographs of drawings, including a site plan, first & second floor plans, and front perspective rendering, and a bird's eye perspective rendering. Photo MAM*068XP*001 is illustrated in A Monograph of the work of Mellor, Meigs & Howe (1923), p.208, dated 1914. The absence of a client name on the work suggests the house may not have been built. However, a name in pencil on the verso of photo MAM*068XP*001 reads "A.J. Drexel Paul". Mellor & Meigs account book 3 (Mc-P) lists two projects for Paul in 1913 & 1914, project nos. 65 & 68, which were alterations to the barn & farm house at Radnor. The barn and polo stable is illustrated in the Monograph, p.195. The presence of drawings at the Avery Library, Columbia from architect Charles A. Platt for this client, for this time period suggests there may have been a competition, and perhaps these drawings represent the Mellor & Meigs entry not accepted.
